In this room, you have access to the many resources you need on your voyage.

Do you see Porthole 1? If you go through that window, it will take you on a journey with Inuit Elders. I know many of them, and I myself have learned from them. They will share the story of Kiviuq with you... for recent years, for the first time in our history as Inuit, we were forbidden to tell our ancient stories, to speak of Kiviuq, the great Inuit hero. Oh the challenges he faced! You'll face challenges too, and like Kiviuq, you'll overcome them.

Porthole 2 will take you on a different journey. We Inuit have always been innovative, making do with what we have to meet our needs. We are also very creative. When the missionaries were first arriving in our land, they told us we could not tell stories like Kiviuq, hoping our ancient stories would be forgotten, along with our art, and our drumdancing. Look closely at the art in porthole 2 and you will be surprised by the secrets the print and carvings tell. My mother was a great artist, as was my sister.

Porthole 3 is where you will find your challenges, where you will see whether you are indeed learning from the Inuit. Sometimes you won't know what to do, and you'll have to take time to come back here, and learn some more, and try again. Never stop trying! Always listen and learn from Elders.
