"In Nunavut, we call our culture Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, or IQ, for those who may find that too much of a tongue twister. IQ refers to a way of viewing the world and the values that go along with living a proper life. It is an approach that defines Inuit. It involves many aspects, including strong values related to social harmony, mutual sharing and assistance, and honesty. The Government has made a commitment to include Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit as an integral part of government policy development. This initiative is co-ordinated through the Department of Culture, Language, Elders and Youth. It will truly be a challenge to incorporate IQ into a European-style public government, and is an effort unique among public governments in Canada, and perhaps the world. But we have already taken steps to realize this commitment."--Paul Okalik, Premier of Nunavut
