The land and sea are vital to Inuit for our survival. On your adventure with us, your eyes will be opened to the close relationship we have with nature. To live here, you have to be smart, very smart. One mistake, in this land, and your life is over. Our weather changes quickly, so we have to be properly dressed and prepared for those sudden changes. If we're unprepared, our lives will end just as suddenly.
But over the past 200 years, some of the people arriving in our land have not wanted to listen, not interested to hear about this life we live. On our own, we Inuit took only what we needed, and we used everything we took. We never wasted meat, or anything, but respected and were grateful for anything we took.
The earth is angry now, and unhappy. Here in our land, we Inuit understand why this is.
As Inuit, we know very well that we are part of nature - it's the land under our feet. These basic things have been ignored for several centuries now, and the cost of fixing the damage is high, so high.
And some of the people now living in our land, have been out of touch with nature for so long. No wonder the earth is telling us, loudly and fiercely, how misguided and ill-fated our current choices are. No wonder the earth is angry. What we are losing forever?
Go, travel on the ocean, and see for yourself.
